The early days are exciting. Weeks three through ten are where consistency is built.
If progress slows
Plateaus are normal. Before changing anything dramatic:
- Zoom out. Compare weeks, not days.
- Audit your logs. Use the tracker for a few days and look for hidden carbs and extra calories (nuts, cheese, cream, drinks).
- Check sleep, stress and hydration. They all affect hunger and weight.
- Re-run your numbers in the calculator, since needs change as your body does.
- Be patient. Give a change two to three weeks before judging it.
Build habits, not willpower
- Plan your week. A plan or the grocery list builder removes daily decisions.
- Keep your kitchen stocked with eggs, cheese, vegetables and a couple of freezer proteins.
- Prep one thing on Sunday. Even a tray of roasted vegetables helps.
- Have default meals for rushed nights.
- Keep a streak in the tracker to make it visible.
Make it social
Tell a friend or partner what you are doing and cook something you both love. Use the dining-out navigator before events.
When to pause or adjust
If keto stops feeling good, if you feel worse rather than better, or if your life changes, it is fine to adjust or step back. Talk to your doctor or a registered dietitian about your goals, and about what a sustainable way of eating looks like for you.
